The Iosco County Sheriff's Office is looking for a motivated individual to work part time in our S.O.M.E. Unit. S.O.M.E. stands for, Snowmobile, ORV, Marine Enforcement Unit. The individual will work between ATV's, UTV's and Boats in the summer, while working on a Snowmobile in the Winter!
A Recreational Deputies main focus is for the safety of the public and enforcement of the State and Counties recreational laws. Primary focus of safety and enforcement will take place on weekends, however being a summer vacation destination, shifts during the week are also scheduled. Hours will range from 20-26 hours per week, based on Grant availability. This position is Seasonal.
ORV and Marine Patrol Grants typically run from April through September. Snowmobile Grant typically runs from January through April. The grants don't run generally from October 1st, through December 31st of any given year.
Hourly pay for a Recreational Deputy is $15.00 per hour. This position is grant funded and no additional benefits are given. Uniforms and Equipment are provided.
Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License. Must have a Michigan Concealed Pistol License, or the ability to obtain one. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
